Organization
Use Organization settings to manage the business structure behind your Mathership workspace. An organization can contain one or more companies. Each company can represent a restaurant, location, branch, business unit, or operating company. Organization settings also control who can access which companies and what each member is allowed to do.Manage companies

What is an organization?
An organization is the top-level structure that groups your companies in Mathership. Use an organization when you manage:- More than one restaurant
- Several company locations
- A central office and multiple operating locations
- A restaurant group
- Separate companies with shared administration
- Teams that need different permissions for different companies
Organization vs. company

Access Organization settings
To open Organization settings:
If you do not belong to any organization yet, Mathership shows a message that no organization is available.
Organization header
The top of the Organization page shows the current organization name. Depending on your access, you may also see:| Item | Meaning |

Switch organization
If you belong to more than one organization, use Switch organization to change the organization shown on the page. The switcher includes search, so you can quickly find an organization by name. When you switch organization, Mathership also switches to a company that belongs to the selected organization so the workspace stays consistent.Organization details

Summary cards

Rename organization
Owners can rename the organization.
The organization name is used in the organization switcher and in organization settings.
Companies
The Companies section lists the companies that belong to the organization. Each row shows:| Column | Description |

Add a company
Users with the required organization permissions can add a company.The Add company button is only shown to users who are allowed to add companies, such as organization admins, owners, or users with billing/company-management permissions.
Edit a company
If you are an owner or admin for a company, the company row can show an Edit button. Use Edit to update company information. Changes apply to that company and may affect how it appears in company lists, reports, settings, and order workflows.Company roles

Members
The Members section is visible to users who can manage organization users. It shows all members who belong to the organization. Each row can show:| Column | Description |

Invite a member
Users with the required permission can invite new members.Choose access
Select whether the person should get organization-wide access or access to specific companies.
Edit member access
Use Edit on a member row to change that person’s access. You can adjust:- Organization-wide access

- Role
- Permissions
Remove a member
Users with the required permission can remove members. You cannot remove:- The organization owner from the regular member table
- Yourself from certain access views
Pending invitations
The Pending invitations section shows invitations that have been sent but not yet accepted. Each invitation row can show:| Column | Description |

Revoke an invitation
If an invitation should no longer be used, click Revoke. Revoking an invitation prevents the recipient from using that invitation to join the organization or company.Company access page
Click a company row in the Companies section to open the company access page. The company access page shows who has access to that specific company. It includes:- Company ID
- City, if available
- Organization name
- Members with access
- Pending company invitations
- Invite to this company button, if you can manage access
Access sources
A member can have access to a company in different ways.| Source | Meaning |

Invite to a company
On a company access page, users with permission can invite someone directly to that company.
Company invitations appear under pending invitations for that company until they are accepted or revoked.
Permissions and capabilities
Roles can include specific capabilities. Capabilities control what a member can do.| Capability | What it allows |

Organization-wide vs. per-company access
Mathership supports both broad and narrow access.| Access type | Best for | Example |

Common workflows
Review organization setup
- Open Settings → Organization
- Check organization name, plan, status, billing cycle, seats, and creation date

Best practices
Use companies for real locations
Create separate companies for locations or business units that need their own orders, settings, inventory, and reports.
Keep roles simple
Give members only the access they need. Use organization-wide access only when someone works across all companies.
Use per-company access
Give branch managers or local staff access only to the companies they work with.
Review financial access carefully
Only assign financial access to users who should see prices, financial reports, and purchase values.
Remove old invitations
Revoke invitations that are no longer needed or were sent to the wrong email address.
Keep company names clear
Clear company names make switching, reporting, ordering, and access management easier.
